Date posted: Mon 10 August 2026

  • Grow an established territory while actively seeking out and winning new business
  • Auckland based – hospitals, clinics & aged care plus regional territory
  • Attractive salary + generous car allowance + substantial bonus opportunity

About the Role

This is a permanent, full-time Product Specialist - Infection Prevention position based in Auckland, managing a mix of local and regional customers across hospitals, clinics, residential aged care and other healthcare settings.

You'll take ownership of an established territory and trusted infection prevention portfolio, with a clear focus on growing the business – both within existing accounts and by identifying and developing new customers.

There are strong relationships already in place, but there is also plenty of opportunity still to uncover. We're looking for someone who enjoys being out in the market, meeting people, asking the right questions and spotting opportunities others may miss.

You'll have the autonomy to plan and manage your territory, backed by an experienced manager and collaborative trans-Tasman team.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Actively identify and develop new business opportunities
  • Grow sales and relationships within existing accounts
  • Build relationships with clinicians, infection prevention teams, nurse managers, procurement and other healthcare decision-makers
  • Develop opportunities from first conversation through to conversion
  • Run product demonstrations, trials, education and customer training
  • Manage new customer transitions from competitor products
  • Develop and execute territory business plans
  • Maintain a strong and active sales pipeline
  • Keep abreast of market trends, competitor activity and opportunities
  • Represent the company at relevant conferences and exhibitions

About You

We're looking for someone with a genuine sales mindset – someone who enjoys building relationships but also gets satisfaction from finding an opportunity and turning it into business.

You'll be proactive, curious and comfortable approaching new customers. You won't simply wait for the phone to ring; you'll enjoy getting out into your territory, building your network and finding where the next opportunity might come from.

At the same time, healthcare sales is about credibility and trust. You'll be comfortable working with clinical customers, educating on products and developing the long-term relationships that underpin a successful territory.

Ideally, you'll bring:
  • Proven healthcare, medical device, pharmaceutical or medical consumables sales experience
  • A strong new-business orientation and confidence approaching prospective customers
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
  • Confidence engaging with clinical and commercial decision-makers
  • Strong presentation, education and product demonstration skills
  • Good territory planning, organisation and follow-through
  • Commercial awareness and confidence managing a sales pipeline
  • The ability to work autonomously while contributing to a close-knit team
Experience in infection prevention, wound management, surface hygiene or selling medical consumables would be advantageous.

About the Company

Their focus is on infection prevention and patient safety, and their purpose – “We protect lives worldwide” – sits at the heart of the business.

The New Zealand team is small, professional and supportive. You'll have the backing of an experienced manager and wider trans-Tasman team, while still having the autonomy to make your territory your own and have a visible impact on the business.

Benefits
  • Competitive base salary
  • Generous car allowance
  • Substantial bonus opportunity
  • Respected international healthcare company and product portfolio
  • Opportunity to make a visible contribution to the growth of the New Zealand business
Eligibility

You must be based in New Zealand and have full, unrestricted New Zealand work rights. Unfortunately, we are unable to consider overseas applicants or provide visa sponsorship.
