  • Join one of the world's leading medical technology companies — a business with a reputation, culture and portfolio you can genuinely be proud to represent
  • Step into a high-profile leadership opportunity where proven sales success, internal influence and the ability to engage and inspire a team will set you apart
  • Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch base, generous package, outstanding training and genuine long-term career opportunities within a global organisation

Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch

Not all sales leadership roles require you to have already held the title.

Sometimes the opportunity is about recognising someone who has the sales credibility, influence and leadership presence to take the next step.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a leading global medical technology organisation within its highly regarded Joint Replacement business.

This role will suit a high-performing sales professional who has demonstrated strong commercial success, knows how to influence people and get things done internally, and has the presence and drive to engage and lead a team.

You may already be an experienced Sales Manager, or you may be an outstanding Territory Manager or senior sales professional ready to step into leadership.

The Opportunity

You will take responsibility for leading and developing a team within a successful and growing Joint Replacement business, driving sales performance while creating a highly engaged and accountable team culture.
This is a role where leadership presence matters.

You will need to build credibility quickly, set clear expectations, bring people with you and create an environment where people want to perform.

Equally important will be your ability to influence internally. You will work across different functions and stakeholders within the wider business, gaining support, creating alignment and ensuring opportunities move forward.

You will be well supported and receive comprehensive training within the Joint Replacement portfolio.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading, engaging and developing a high-performing sales team
• Driving sales performance, growth and accountability across the business
• Setting clear expectations and supporting the team to deliver against them
• Coaching and developing individuals to maximise their performance
• Building strong relationships with customers and key healthcare stakeholders
• Influencing internal stakeholders and working collaboratively across the organisation to get business done
• Developing and executing sales and territory strategies
• Identifying opportunities for growth and supporting the team through complex sales opportunities
• Creating a positive, high-performance culture where people feel supported, challenged and valued

About You

First and foremost, you will have demonstrated that you can sell.

You may currently be a Senior Territory Manager, Senior Sales Representative or an established Sales Manager, but you will have a strong track record of delivering commercial results and can clearly demonstrate your sales success.

Beyond that, you will have natural leadership presence — someone who can engage a team, command respect and bring people with them.

You will have the confidence and credibility to influence stakeholders across a complex organisation, even where you do not have direct authority.

You care deeply about what you do, the results you deliver and the people around you.

To be successful, you will ideally offer:

Experience selling into the New Zealand hospital environment would be highly regarded, with preference given to candidates who already understand hospital stakeholders, procurement processes and the local healthcare landscape.

• A demonstrated track record of successful sales performance as a Territory Manager, Sales Representative or similar
• Strong examples of influencing internal stakeholders to achieve commercial outcomes
• Excellent communication, relationship-building and influencing capability
• Natural leadership presence and the ability to engage and motivate others
• The ability to set expectations, drive accountability and maintain high standards
• Strong commercial acumen and a performance-focused mindset
• High levels of personal drive, energy and resilience
• A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively across different internal teams
• Genuine care for customers, colleagues and the wider business

Previous people leadership experience would be highly regarded, but is not essential for an exceptional sales performer who can clearly demonstrate leadership capability and is ready to take the next step.

Experience within orthopaedics, surgical devices or the New Zealand hospital environment would also be advantageous, and candidates with established hospital sales experience in New Zealand are likely to be particularly well aligned to the role. Comprehensive product and clinical training will be provided.

What's on Offer?

• The opportunity to lead within a highly regarded global medical technology organisation
• Flexibility to be based in Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch
• Excellent training and ongoing development
• A generous remuneration package, with base salary aligned to experience
• Performance incentives and additional benefits
• Genuine long-term career development opportunities
• The opportunity for an outstanding Territory Manager or sales professional to make the move into leadership
• An ASAP start for the right person

This is an opportunity for someone with real sales credibility, leadership potential and presence — someone with mana who can engage a team, influence across the business and genuinely cares about delivering great outcomes for both customers and the people around them.
